Heavy drops, clean low end

Dubstep & Bass Music Mixing and Mastering

Mixing and mastering for dubstep, riddim, brostep, melodic bass and drum & bass. We keep your sub enormous and your growls aggressive, while making sure the drop stays clean at festival volume.

The sound

Mixing and mastering for Dubstep & Bass Music

Bass music asks more of a mix than almost any other genre. The sub has to shake a sound system, the mid-range basses have to growl and scream without turning to mush, and the drums still need to cut through the middle of it all. Sound design is the identity of the track, so we treat your basses as finished instruments and focus on making them fit: separating sub from mid-bass, controlling resonant peaks and keeping the snare punching through every drop. Whether you write heavy riddim, melodic dubstep or bass-heavy drum & bass, the master comes back loud, wide in the right places and solid in mono.

Our approach

Built around your sound

01

Sub and mid-bass, separated

We split the job between the clean sub and the distorted mid-bass layers so the low end stays powerful while the growls keep their bite. That separation is what lets a drop sound huge instead of muddy.

02

A snare that survives the drop

In a wall of bass, the snare is what tells the listener where the beat is. We shape it to crack through the densest drop without making it piercing.

03

Festival-loud, mono-safe masters

Bass music is mastered loud. We get it there with careful clipping and limiting, keep the sub centered so it translates on club rigs, and check that the build-up still feels like it is going somewhere.

Questions

Dubstep & Bass Music mixing and mastering FAQ

Should I send my bass sound design as one file or separate layers?

Separate layers are best: the sub on its own, then each mid-bass or growl layer. If your bass is printed as one sound, that is fine too; send it as one file and we will work with it.

How loud will my dubstep master be?

Bass music is usually mastered very loud. We push loudness as far as the track stays punchy and clean, and we check how it sounds after streaming platforms adjust the volume.

Do you mix drum & bass and riddim too?

Yes. Drum & bass needs fast, tight drums and a rolling sub, while riddim is built on repetitive, aggressive bass patterns. Tell us your style or send a reference track.
